Davis Homes Takes Diamond LIBI Award

Being a Diamond winner in the Fourth Annual LIBI Awards program is a big honor for Davis Homes, Inc. of Shirley and especially satisfying for Chuck Davis who joined his father, Bob Davis in the family business two years ago.

"I love it, I've learned a lot in two years. I've got a good teacher," Chuck Davis said. Davis knew early on that the custom home he was building would be a perfect entry for the LIBI awards. "I've been excited," he said, adding, "I really wanted to be able to enter it into the contest.

A master bedroom with cathedral ceilings, his and her walk-in closets and a jacuzzi are among the features of the award winning entry level home.

Designed to accommodate a family with children, the home includes three bedrooms and three and a half baths with each bedroom having its own half bath with an adjoining tub room between for privacy and convenience.

A wide hallway between the upstairs bedrooms is equipped with a computer area and is the perfect place for homework and study. An open floor plan on the first floor includes the formal dining room, great room, breakfast area, kitchen and separate den. A custom fireplace, custom ceramic tiles and hardwood floors are among the homes many features.

Displaying the LIBI award is something that the father and son team will do with pride. "It shows what a small company could do as far as building a custom home. It shows what you can do with a smaller size lot," Chuck Davis said.

Targeting affordable home buyer by purchasing small space lots and building form standard package plans is the norm for Davis Homes Inc. and the Davis' are pleased they have the ability to offer entry level homes. While they enjoy designing the occasional custom home, like the LIBI award winning one, they enjoy making their target customers happy. "We make a lot of first time home buyers' dreams come true," Chuck Davis said.
